In our area, senior photos can cost up to $500. For many students, that’s a week’s grocery bill or a month’s rent. I am not a professional photographer but I do have a DSLR and professional editing software. Instead of feeling powerless, this year I have offered to do affordable senior photographs. I only charge $25 for unlimited photos in a 2-hour session. Many clients and students have told me that I am undervaluing myself. But, I am not doing it for money. To me, nothing can replace the feeling of a student looking at their portrait for the first time. I keep my price so low, so everyone can get access to high-quality photos. So far, I have had 5 sessions. But, I have already booked quite a few spots for the spring. Additionally, I hope to continue to do senior photos in college.
